Hi All,
I have been asked by one of the website' s members to post the following. Please post your reply to these questions.
Thanks
A Department of Health Review Group is considering the issues related to Oral Surgery (OS) and even Oral Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) being provided in a primary dental care setting.
Would ALL General Dental Practitioners and those in secondary care please answer the following questions.
Does DH mean the Department of Health?
Question 2 is unclear to me.
What is the exact purpose of this straw poll, please?
Sorry for any confusion, the DH does refer to the Department of Health.
I will go back to the registered member and ask them to comment on question 2 and the intended purpose.
Best wishes.
Professor David Johns asked for the questions to be added to the discussion forum and has commented as follows:
"Because of the review being undertaken by a high-profile Department of Health group of dentists into this general topic it can be expected that, as part of future revalidation, competence in these types of surgery will be undertaken of those dentists who offer, after any additional training, such treatments. Patients in particular, may press that the assessment of this competence be robust. Hence the question."
Should anyone have any further questions relating to this then you can contact David himself via this website by searching for his profile in the Forum section. You can view the membership of the site by clicking on "view all users".
More training would definately be advantageous to myself and patients to improve standard up to those who regularly carry out OS/ OMFS
